What is Parkinson's Disease?
Parkinson’s disease is a degenerative condition that affects about 10 million people world wide, about 60,000 new cases are diagnosed each year. Parkinson’s disease affects a part of the brain known as the basal ganglia and substantia nigra. You may see symptoms such as:
Physical Symptoms
- Tremors
- One arm doesn’t swing while walking
- Difficulty walking
- Freezing gait
- Shuffling gait
- Forward head tilt
- Pain
- Joint pain
- Pain from stiff muscles
- Pain from lack of movement
- Low voice volume
- Difficulty speaking
- Drooling
Mental Symptoms
